National Data Sovereignty

From Estonia's digital citizenry to the paperwork of America First, which nations have the best practices, cultures, and systems for a a world of personal data proliferation?

I first want to thank you all for joining from Chile, Germany, Estonia, & Finland respectively. I thought that it would be a good idea to start this panel with exploring any references or bullet points about if your home country defined the data sovereignty of individuals in law.
The new EU general data protection regulation (GDPR) is rather strong in data sovereignty. It is EU level legislation and not separately “implemented” into the national legislations as the previous directive from 1995 was. The fellow European panelists may continue on this :)
